“Then I, John, saw a new heaven and a new earth. The former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. I also saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with the human race. He will dwell with them and they will be his people and God himself will always be with them as their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away.”
Dear Parishioners and Friends;
Our weekend second readings have been from the book of Revelation and are really beautiful reminders of the blessings God has prepared for us.
We celebrate the passing away of the reign of death and the new creation of eternal life with God. The vision of John we hear about today looks to fulfillment in the full realization of the new creation at the end of time when all is transformed and made new!
Our Diocesan Diaconate Ordination is scheduled for next Saturday, May 25th at 10:00am. The following weekend, June 1st, will be the Priesthood Ordinations. Please pray for our soon to be ordained deacons and priests. Pray also for Sr. Colleen O'Toole, as she is in her final months of becoming a fully professed Sister of Mercy.
Let us all pray for and encourage our young people to consider a life of service in the church through God's calling. Vocations do not appear out of nowhere. With God's grace they come from families like your own.
Our 65th annual Fiesta is only two weeks away! Be sure to check our bulletin and website for more information. Volunteers are always needed.
Next Tuesday evening we will have Mass at 5:00pm for members of our St. Rita Society followed by the Litany of Mary. Everyone is welcome to join us.
May God bless you!
